Rafiki means “Friends” in Swahili and this cooperative of NJ-based jazz musicians explore the interplay and magic that is possible when they respect and enjoy each other as professionals and people. Collectively, Rafiki has over 80 years of experience and features a multigenerational lineup of veterans and newcomers that swing their way through standards, blues, the American songbook, and modern tunes with a soul-inflected approach that will have you snapping your fingers and bobbing your head.
For their Clement’s Place debut, Rafiki will have Chris Berger on Bass, Gene Ghee on Saxophone, Peter Lin on Trombone, Norman Mann on Percussion, Noel Sagerman on Drums, Rob Stevens on Keys and will also include Joy Elaine Fister as guest vocalist.
Join us for another great evening of swinging jazz, blues, and everything in between.
